Out of the 530 lawsuits filed against the Trump administration in 2025, about 32 have made their way entirely through the courts. The Trump administration won 8 of these cases and lost 24. The vast majority — nearly 500 cases — remain pending, blocked, or awaiting rulings. Judges have ruled against the detentions 4,400 times; yet they continue. I added beads to mark lower-court victories because of complaints there were so few “victories” represented. They are victories of persistent hope.
