Diane Wang worked for twenty-five years in various garment shops, steel mills, and oil refineries before becoming an educator. She taught in classrooms ranging from kindergarten to community college. She finished her teaching career as education director at Peralta Hacienda Museum and Park, where she focused on environmental programs for youth. Diane studied Chinese calligraphy and water color for many years, but after back surgery in 2024 preferred to sit and crochet.

Diane Wang has published a chapbook of poetry, Legend, Language and Women; she has a story in the anthology, An Intricate Weave: Women Write about Girls and Girlhood.
